Aids Hilfe Wien is a non-profit association in which both full-time and voluntary employees contribute their knowledge and commitment. In addition, civilian servants and interns provide valuable support.
Today, one can expect a normal life expectancy even with an HIV infection. The prerequisites for this are early diagnosis, timely treatment with regular medication and check-ups. Due to the changed life realities and perspectives of HIV-positive people, the range of services offered by Aids Hilfe Wien has been expanded in recent years.
This means that we had to and could expand our services step by step, from focusing on HIV-related services (testing, counselling, therapy mediation, care, etc.) to testing for all major sexually transmitted diseases (STDs): HIV, syphilis, gonorrhoea, chlamydia and viral hepatitis ("Big five").
